Snow!!!

We woke up to snow this morning!!!! Not a lot, but enough to alter my plans for the day :/

I was supposed to be hosting a jewelry part at my house today, but the snow put a kabosh on that.  For some reason my daughter is acting like she was raised by wolves so maybe it's for the best?  Anyhow, that gives me time to post pictures from my trip for you guys!!  More after the jump!

It was so great to see my family.  I had not seen them since June when we drove out for vacation.  They recently lost two of their dogs (within the last month!) so their remaining doggy Miss October was grateful for visitors. She has no shame.

She really enjoyed the kids.  :)

My brother has a new puppy that comes to visit her as well to boost her spirits.  It's FENTON!!!  (Click the link seriously.  It's one of the funniest videos I've ever seen.)

When hubby and I were dating and lived in the area one of our favorite things to do was go to Big Spring Park and feed the ducks and geese.  I always try to do that when we visit, but we usually don't have time.  This time we did!

They had a really cool display of Christmas trees there, and an outdoor ice rink!  Here was one of the neatest trees:

When we went to pick up the petit fors for my brother's reception there were creme horns.....They were amazing.

My brother's reception was great!  Great food, and great to see family I had not seen since June and some of them for a couple of years even!  I also got to meet my new sister-in-law's family.  Great bunch they were!

I was missing my kitties pretty hard core after the first few days, so my brother rounded up some kitties for us to pet.

Then there were donuts.....seriously hot fresh donuts and coffee - best thing ever only second to kitties.

It's always fun to visit family around holidays and do all the little holiday related things you don't normally get to do with them!!

At some point we went to a Greek restaurant (OMG. best gyro EVER in the history of gyros!!!).  I was so excited to check out their pastries (I might have a problem.).  We got some kataifi. I've been wanting to try them since I saw them over on KERF!! It was good, but they are pretty big; so, trying to eat a whole one by yourself is not the best idea I've ever had.  Sugar.coma.

We went and visited my Nana, and I snapped this picture of a toy I used to play with when I was a wee one.

Scooter!!

Then there were Krystals. Hallelujah. We don't have these where I live now and I cry about it every day.  :(

36 Krystals - 6 adults. 2 kids. Gone in 5 minutes.

Then we came home.  We were supposed to get in to the airport here at 12:40 p.m., but after 3 or 4 delays we made it in at 9 p.m. instead and made it home at 1 a.m. Fun times!

waiting during our 6 hour layover.

Notice the kitty shaped hole in the side of the tree.....Milo apparently lived in the tree while we were gone.  And Sushi says:  "Don't you ever leave me again!!!"

  1. OH MY CUTE ANIMALS!! They're all so precious. I love the vacant spot in your tree... silly kitty. And the LORAX?! Are you serious? I would've hugged that tree, which isn't all that surprising. Love your recap, looks like you had a blast :)
