Week 1 goals recap

Week one went well.  I stayed on track with my exercise and food.  I think tracking in the paper journal helps SO MUCH.  I got my new tracker in the mail and I had to laugh when I opened up the cover.

I'm considering adding in there - "and don't schtoop your maid for 15 years secretly."  Regardless of Mr. Schwarzenegger's input this is a really good diet journal! The cover is discreet and it has pages enough for 200+ days of tracking.

Another of my goals for January and 2013 is to stay off Facebook.  I have struggled with this previously, and I finally found a computer program that helps!  It's called Cold Turkey and it blocks websites you want to avoid.  Unlike other software that does this, it's very hard to bypass so it actually works lol.

Another goal that I am working on is reading 52 books in 2013.  I read Soul Stalker, by Laura Kreitzer last week and it was very good.  It is a science fiction/fantasy/paranormal type book about "angels" so if that's not your thing then you probably would not like it.  It's very well written.  Not too much smut (sometimes I wish it had more smut.....), very classy books.  This week I am working on Abyss, the next book in that series.  I'm almost done with it so I might actually start another this week.

Happy Wednesday! I have to get some work done so I can take my kiddo to the doctor. Cross your fingers he doesn't have the flu!

I will leave you with Milo and his "beloved" blankie.  (Boy has issues with this blanket, and I cannot wait to get him neutered on January 17!!)

Happy Sunday!

Where did the weekend go!?!?  Today I cleaned some but more importantly I hung out on the couch and read on my book for a few hours!  Then I went to the gym.  It was a great day! For dinner we had chicken burgers with tzatziki sauce and those were great!  They were loosely based on THIS recipe.

Now I gotta get going!  I have a date with my couch and Biggest Loser!

Aaaaack!

I ordered a teeny bikini! I was hoping it would be motivation to keep me going!  I can daydream about myself wearing it next summer!

Daydreams

So in an effort to do better with my eating I decided to use the paper journal they gave me when I signed up at the gym to track my food and exercise.  I have all the apps on my phone, iPad etc....but I just don't use them.  It just seems much easier to keep the paper journal on my desk.

So far so good!! I even ordered another for when this one runs out.  I'm down 2 pounds this week so far.  I skipped the gym last night and did the Spartan WOD workout with hubby.....modified because I CANNOT do 400 lunges. It was a good workout though! But I am looking forward to going back to the gym tonight!

Monica over at Run, Eat, Repeat was talking about the RNR New Orleans Marathon this morning.  Funny because just yesterday I was daydreaming about our roadtrip last June that took us through Nola.  I am jonesing to go back!!  IN A MAJOR WAY.

If the RNR Nola was not next month I would totally pick that as my half for this year, but I'm looking for a half in the fall, so maybe Portland.....In the meantime I'll just be sitting over here daydreaming....and planning my next roadtrip. (and bombarding hubby with text messages about said roadtrip!) :)

Another of my resolutions for this year that I failed to tell you guys about is my goal to read 52 books this year!  A book a week!  I will recap my book for the first week of January on Monday and tell you about the book I'll be starting for the coming week.  This week I'm reading Book 2 of the Timeless series by Laura Kreitzer: Soul Stalker.  Good book!  I will finish it up on Sunday!

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a lovely New Year's Eve, etc.  I have been feeling crummy, but I feel better now.  I skipped the gym yesterday because I knew I couldn't do it; I'll be back in there tonight though! I am not lacking in motivation for going to the gym, but I am lacking in motivation for running and eating right!  I'm still "run shy" since that run in November that sucked!! :(  I really need to get back on it.  I need to come up with a plan of attack.  I think for starters I'll just focus on doing 1.5 miles on the treadmill every time I go to the gym.

Here are the goals for January 2013:
1. Go to the gym at least 5 times a week.  (This is going to be tough because hubby will be gone for 2 weeks mid January).
2. Stay off Facebook!
3. Run at least 30 miles.
4. Eat "clean."
5. Be more organized.

What are your goals for January?

Sushi says Happy New Year!!

Carly wonders why I haven't introduced her to you peoples...Sorry Carly.  :( My bad.
